Rectangular box with rounded corners, the cover inset with an octagonal enamel plaque depicting The Fountain of Love painted en grisaille, within split-pearl border and opaque blue enamelled band with flowers in each corner and foliage between, the edge with chased acanthus, the sides and base enamelled in translucent grey and royal blue and black flinqué enamel on an engine-turned ground engraved with sylised sun-ray motifs, the base and sides with coin pattern, the corners of the sides enamelled in blue and black with gold taille d'épargne trefoils
