LATE URUK/JEMDET NASR, CIRCA 3100-2900 B.C
Reclining with its legs folded under, the tail curling between the rear legs, the tapering head held square, with a down-turned mouth, budding horns and leaf-shaped ears, the lidded almond eyes inlaid with white shell, the pupils recessed and perhaps once also inlaid, pierced horizontally through the shoulders for suspension
