WU HUAN (17TH CENTURY)
a scroll painting, in ink and colours on silk, depicting two egrets wading in a pond amongst lotus, two mandarin ducks standing on rockwork to one side and two humming birds above, one in flight and one perched on a lotus petal -- 76in. x 38in. (193cm. x 96.5cm.), signed by the artist: Shangshan Wu Huan, with two seals of the artist: Xin Yi Fu, Wu Huan Si Yin, embroidered scroll mount decorated with chrysanthemums and peonies, glazed and set in a gilt wood frame.
來源
This hanging scroll was acquired by the late Prince and Princess Nikolai Alexandrovich Galitzine when they were staying in Yokohama in Japan between late 1918 and early 1919. Prince Nikolai gifted the painting to his grandson and granddaughter in the early 1960's.
