A large Longquan celadon dish, 15th century
with shallow rounded sides rising to the flattened everted rim, supported on a short tapering foot ring, the centre carved with a lotus blossom and the rim with a foliate scroll, covered with a sea-green glaze except for a broad ring in the base burnt orange -- 16 1/8in. (40.9cm.) diam.
