A 19TH CENTURY PORTUGESE SILVER TOOTHPICK HOLDER,
MARK OF DPC in oval punch (UNIDENTIFIED), OPORTO, CIRCA 1860, also bearing later marks for old objects for LISBON, used between 1886/1938,
Modelled as a peacock atop a gourd encircled by pendent leaves, on slightly sunken circular base chased with foliate border, raised on three claw feet, 6½ in. high (16.5 cm.), 6.75 oz.
