AN UNUSUAL AUSTRO-HUNGARIAN SILVER & ENAMEL VESSEL IN THE FORM OF A CHINESE MOON FLASK,
BEARING ONLY A FRENCH DUTY MARK, PROBABLY LAST QUARTER OF 19TH CENTURY,
Decorated with exotic birds, flowers & butterflies in polychrome enamels, the shoulders applied with two crowned snakes, the pull-off stopper set on top with green beryl, the body overlaid with filigree work and cabochon-set with pink tourmalines, garnets & baroque pearls, raised on a base terminating in scroll feet, 14 in. high (36 cm.), gross weight 53.5 oz.
