A pair of Chinese famille rose vases, yuhuchunping, 19th century
each of compressed pear shape rising to the tall waisted neck with a garlic shaped mouth, supported on short spreading foot, decorated with two quatrefoil cartouchs enclosing a magpie perched on a peony branch amidst aster sprays and rockwork and floral sprays amidst rockwork including chrysanthemum, pink and aster, with musical stones suspended from a lotus and ruyi-head scroll below a band of moulded lotus petals around the rim, all reserved on a lime green ground with scrolling lotus, the foot with floral sprays, underglaze blue Qianlong seal marks -- max. 14½in. (36.8cm.) high, Japanese wood box. (2)
