The case with brass handle to the moulded cushion top, pierced brass sound frets to the sides and to the top rail of the front door, gilt-brass escutcheons with herm masks, rectangular glazed panels to sides and to the rear door, on a moulded plinth base with brass bun feet, the 6½ in. square brass dial with engraved border and winged cherub spandrels to a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with trident fleur-de-lys half hour markers, signed Edw. Burgis/London, matted centre with date aperture above, blued steel hands, strike/silent lever above 60, the twin line and fusee movement with six ring turned latched pillars (three now pinned), verge escapement (re-converted) with internal rack strike on bell, formerly with pull repeat, the foliate engraved backplate with signature Edw. Burgis/Londini Fecit; winding key; two door keys
