A SET OF FOUR LOUIS XV GILTWOOD FAUTEUILS
MID-18TH CENTURY, MINOR VARIATIONS TO CARVING
Each with cartouche-form back and serpentine seat carved with C-scrolls, shells, cartouches and trailing acanthus against a blind stippled ground and covered in floral gros point needlework, the out-scrolled arms with cabochon terminals and the apron with similar central cartouche with a flower-head and scrolling acanthus on acanthus-carved cabriole legs ending in cabochon feet, one bearing a paper label for a chateau inventory, the others variously numbered 'Mme de Wendel', variously numbered '2, 4 and 5', three bearing paper label 'Room No. 244' (4)
