Brockbank & Atkins, London, No. 1367. Mid 19th Century
The dial with seven day up/down and seconds rings, signed Brockbank & Atkins/London/No.1367, gold hour and minute hands and blued steel subsidiary hands, reverse chain fusee with maintaining power, Earnshaw escapement on a sub-assembly with chain guard, cut bimetallic balance with circular compensation weights and blued steel helical balance spring, spring detent, repeat signature to top plate, the brass bowl formerly gimbal-mounted; case with carved volute side mouldings, brass shutter to rear winding hole, on possibly later breakfront plinth
