A Chinese wucai baluster vase and cover, Shunzhi (1644-1661)
enamelled in green, lime-green, iron-red and yellow with a register enclosing lotus blossoms borne on a foliate scroll, the high shoulders with a foliate border decorated with chrysanthemum blossoms alternating with buds between a scale pattern and a classic scroll, with a lotus scroll above the foot and a peony scroll around the neck surmounted by the lipped rim, the similarly decorated domed cover with a pearl finial -- 11 3/16in. (28.3cm.) high.
