A RARE DRESS SWORD FOR A YOUNG CHILD
circa 1770-80, possibly Russian
Of diminutive proportions, with curved blade etched with a ducal hat over a small decorative panel on each face, with traces of a French inscription, brass hilt cast in one piece, decorated with panels of rococo ornament in low relief and with eagle's head pommel, and in its original brass scabbard, the outer-face chased and punched with scrolling foliage.
