A 17-BORE FLINTLOCK NEW LAND PATTERN SERVICE PISTOL; AND A 19-BORE FLINTLOCK EAST INDIA COMPANY NEW LAND PATTERN CAVALRY PISTOL
The first dated 1800; the second dated 1813
The first with 9in barrel, Ordnance view and proof marks, flat lock engraved 'GR' across the tail, raised pan with engraved bridle, the stock with Ordnance mark and storekeeper's mark dated 1800 (fore-end cracked at the ramrod aperture), regulation mounts, and stirrup ramrod; the second with London proof marks and E.I.C date code 'C4' for 1839-40, flat lock with linear borders, struck with the Lion crest of the United East India Company and with the date across the tail, regulation mounts including trigger-guard stamped 'NNV' over the date code, and stirrup ramrod.
