The first with brass barrel belled towards the muzzle, steel breech, plain breech tang, plain lock with linear engraved border, figured walnut full stock, plain brass mounts of neo-regulation type, and original iron ramrod, Birmingham proof marks; the second with 9in barrel retained by a single bolt, plain lock, full stock (bruised), brass mounts of regulation type including flat oval butt-cap with lanyard ring, fore-end cap, and no provision for ramrod, Liège proof.
