Two similar Chinese blue and white small tureens and covers, Qianlong (1736-1795)
each of oblong octagonal form flanked by a pair of hare handles, surmounted by a domed cover with a foliate finial, painted with scenes of figures amidst pagodas in a mountainous river landscape, the covers with a butterfly and floral spray border above the rim -- max. 7 3/16in. (18.3cm.) wide; and two blue and white octagonal dishes, the first painted in the centre with a lady and a boy offering flowers and the second with figures in a boat beside a riverbank with pagodas, Qianlong -- max. 12 13/16in. (30cm.) wide. (4)
