Meiji period (late 19th century), signed Shosetsu
The rectangular cabinet designed in silver with shaped panels on the doors decorated with shell, colored ivory and coral with birds in flowering cherry trees on a kinji ground, the sides and back with fan-shaped panels containing more birds and flowers, interior with split-level shelves all lacquered nashiji with a flower vase and flower arrangement and a hanging floral garland on the insides of the doors rendered in gold hiramaki-e, two drawers below the doors; with a fitted wood stand
