A Bingo Mihara Tanto in Mounts
Muromachi period (early 16th century), signed Bingo kuni Mihara junin Masachika saku and dated Eisho junananen hachigatsu bi (1520.8)
Hira-zukuri, iori-mune forged in a running itame pattern mixed mokume with a suguha gunome tempered edge with clusters of nie in the valleys, sunagashi, nijuba and mune-yaki, the tip a continuation of the tempered edge with a long turnback, the tang ubu with one hole and katte sagari file marks

In shirasaya [plain wood storage scabbard] with a gold two-piece habaki, 8 5/8in. (22cm.) long; with a black-lacquer aikuchi koshirae, Edo period (19th century)

With a Tokubetsu kicho token (Especially precious sword) certificate no. 20507 issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (Society for the Preservation of the Japan Art Sword), dated 1981.3.27
