The arms are those of Dom Luis Peregrino de Ataide, the 10th Count of Atouguia, of the Counsil of King Joao V, Governor and Captain-General of the Algarve, 6th Vice-Roy of Brazil from 1749 to 1755. Cf. Nuno de Castro, Chinese Porcelain and the Heraldry of the Empire, pp. 54-60, where the author refers negative to the question, whether this coat-of-arms is similar to the one of the Italian family Marini, but nothing was found to convince that these 'Marines' had letters-patent of these arms in 1720.
