A Satsuma earthenware censer, Meiji Period (1868-1912)
modelled as a crane, seated on a circular base making the lid of the censer which stands on three raised feet decorated in relief, the whole is covered by a pierced basket weave cover, simulating the birds cage, unmarked -- 11in. (28cm.) high.
