DYNASTY I, CIRCA 3100-2890 B.C.
The shallow vessel on flat base, the thick walls tapering to the rim, gently concave on the interior; and an Egyptian alabaster shallow dish with rounded base and tapered sides, Dynasty I-III, circa 3100-2600 B.C.
8¾ in. (21.8 cm.) and 9½ in. (23.4 cm.) diam. respectively (2)

Collection of Dr. R. Schmidt (1900-1970), and thence by descent to the present owner (see lot 28 onwards).
