THREE LURISTAN BRONZE AXE HEADS
2ND MILLENNIUM B.C.
Comprising one with four long butt-spikes with joined conical tips, 8 in. (20 cm.) long; another with ribbed shaft and oval knob along top edge of flared blade, 5¾ in. (14.5 cm.) long; another with tall shaft with seven short conical-shaped butt-spikes, 5 in. (12.6 cm.) long; and a Luristan bronze pickaxe head, the cut away shaft with curving butt-plate strengthened by a thick bar, 2nd millennium B.C., 8½ in. (21.5 cm.) long, all mounted (4)
Provenance
Property from a Princely collection, acquired in the 1960s (see lot 115 onwards).
