A pair of large bronze geese, Meiji Period (1868-1912)
each modelled with the head turned upwards with an open beak revealing the long tongue and rows of teeth, the body with folded wings finely cast with plummage and feathers, the large male with its neck stretched upwards and the smaller female with its neck turned towards the back, standing on webbed feet -- the male 31in. (78.7cm.) high. (2)
