EINSTEIN, Albert (1879-1955). Autograph letter signed ('Albert') to his first wife, Mileva, n.p., n.d., proposing to come and stay at the end of July, and take his younger son Eduard back to his country house at Caputh for a few days afterwards; he recommends that Mileva reflect seriously on the question of the house, asking if she has any advisor, and noting ruefully that 'Der Tetel hat die geschäftlichen Talente vom Vater geerbt ... [Eduard has inherited his business sense from his father ...]'. In a postscript, he promises to see about bringing a spare violin to lend to Eduard, but his son will have to find the bow for himself -- 'I only have one', half page, 4to (minor browning).
