In addition to de Witt's celebrated twin-hemisphere world map [ca. 1670, see Shirley 451], the atlas includes approximately 117 maps of Europe, the Mediterranean and Russia; 6 maps of Africa; 6 of Asia and the Middle East including Visscher's Indiae orientalis [Amsterdam, ca. 1680]; and 7 of the Americas including Schenk's America septentrionalis novissima [Amsterdam, 1690], Jansson's America septentrionalis and Americae pars meridionalis [Amsterdam, ca. 1650], Visscher's Novi Belgii novaeque Angliae nec non partis Virginiae tabula [Amsterdam, c. 1680], with an inset view of 'Nieuw Amsterdam op t Eylant Manhattans', Blaeu's Nova et accurata Brasilias totius tabula [Amsterdam, 1662 or later], and Visscher's Insula Americanae in Oceano Septentrionali [Amsterdam, ca. 1658].
