Original illustrated thin paper covers, with lithographs by Rozanova (front cover evenly faded). Provenance: Levky Ivanovich Zheverzheev (gift inscription from Kruchenykh; case label).

FIRST EDITION. A PRESENTATION COPY INSCRIBED BY KRUCHENYKH TO ZHEVERZHEEV, patron and Chair of the 'Union of Youth' -- one of the pivotal groups in Russian Futurism: 'For Levky Ivanovich in fond remembrance. To him and to another 10,000 books! A. Kruchenykh'. Lithographed throughout, with illustrations by Rozanova and reproducing her calligraphy. The text revises Kruchenykh's 'Starinnaia Liubov' [Old-Time Love], the first Russian book of Futurist poetry, adding an introduction by Khlebnikov, and a portrait of Kruchenykh by N. Kul'bin. EUY was Kruchenykh's own imprint, which he established that year when he moved to St. Petersburg. The innovative partnership between Kruchenykh and Rozanova was very fruitful and produced more than 10 collaborations. One of only 400 copies. A SUPERB ASSOCIATION COPY IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. Hellyer 212; MoMA, The Russian Avant-Garde Book, p.72.
