THE FIRST ILLUSTRATED EDITION, COMPRISING THE FIRST PUBLICATION OF SUPREMATIST DESIGNS: 'Black Square' and 'Black Circle'. 'Malevich's philosophy and practice of Suprematism inspired many individual approaches towards non-objectivity in art' (MoMA). This so-called third edition is in fact the first revised, enlarged and illustrated edition of the two which appeared, with no illustrations, a month earlier in December 1915 to accompany the first public exhibition of the 'Black Square' painting at the 0.10 exhibition in Petrograd.
