Woven in wools and silks, depicting courtly-dressed ladies kneeling before a Roman general, with further soldiers in the background, within an elaborate pergola border decorated with classically-draped figures and flower-field vases, the angles with allegorical scenes, within a blue outer slip, with weaver monogram 'AH'
