LATE 17TH CENTURY, PROBABLY ENGLISH
One with a shield-shaped panelled back carved with foliage and lozenges, the later seat covered with a crimson velvet cushion above a box base; the other with an arched panelled back carved with geometric motifs, above a burgundy-red velvet cushion, on ring-turned baluster legs joined by box-stretchers and terminating in bun feet, incised 'RM' to the top, the seat panel replaced
