AN ALTAR CROSS
BYZANTINE, 8TH-9TH CENTURY
The core of the cross made of iron, concealed by four sheets of silver on the front, joined in the intersection, the latter covered by two concentric rings, the first flat and undecorated, the second with a plaited pattern, in the centre a rosette made of gold, the shafts terminating to circular finials, the reverse with bronze sheets, presented in a clear Plexiglass setting
