CIRCA 1725, THE AUGSBURG DECORATION ALMOST CONTEMPORARY
Decorated in the Seuter workshop, the beaker with figures urging a horned animal to jump through a hoop and with figures performing beneath a canopy above moulded fluted gadrooning alternately decorated with gilt bands, dots and scrollwork, the scroll handles and interior richly gilt, the gold-ground saucer reserved with a scalloped circular panel edged with foliage and enclosing a vignette of a seated figure before vases and three further figures, one with a parasol, on a terrace and a scrollwork support, the underside with similar radiating fluted gadroons within a broad gilt border (slight flake to rim of underside of saucer, minute wear to centre of saucer)
