拍品专文

The present pair of cups and saucers are from a collection which originally had five identical examples, the other three were sold in these Rooms on 28th March 1977, lots 7 and 8. See Dr. Erika Pauls-Eisenbeiss, German Porcelain of the 18th Century (London, 1972), Vol. I, pp. 368-9, for one of a pair of similar cups and dodecagonal saucers from the Pauls Collection, which bears a Japanese Palace inventory number.

The significance of the marks on the saucers of the present lot is intriguing and perhaps disguises the initials (CJ?). The Pauls Collection example has a pseudo Kang xi mark.
