CIRCA 1725, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARK TO TEAPOT, GILDER'S MARK OF A DOT TO BOTH PIECES
Painted in Eisenrot with a continuous harbour scene of figures among ruined columns before ships and fortified towers, below a gilt Laub-und-Bandelwerk border, the richly gilt curved spout issuing from a mask terminal, the loop handle with foliate terminals, the domed cover with conforming decoration below a gilt onion finial (slightly re-touched rim chip adjacent to handle of teapot, areas of wear to top edge of rim and underside edge of cover, further very slight wear to gilding)
