CIRCA 1770, IMPRESSED BAVARIAN SHIELD MARK
After a model by Franz Anton Bustelli, with a farm-boy curled up asleep on a series of C-scrolls against a dilapidated obelisk applied with moss, a dog below him, a farm-girl seated on a grassy knoll to the left looking over towards him and playing the zylophone to wake him, on a shaped shallow grassy mound base edged with scrolls, enriched in colours and some in gilding (his left foot restuck, slight re-touching to disguise chipping to tree branches and minute chip to her hat, majority of her sticks lacking, firing cracks filled with plaster)

The example formerly in the Kaumheimer Collection illustrated by Alfred Ziffer, Le Porcellane, Museo Castello del Buonconsiglio, Trento, Catalogue (Trento, 1991), pp. 56-7, no. 27, was sold in these Rooms on 8th December 2003, lot 60. Other examples were sold in these Rooms on 17th October 1977, lot 212 and on 2nd October 1978, lot 64.
