A group of thirteen Japanese wood netsuke, late 18th and 19th Century
of an entertainer seated in a loin cloth, wearing a hat, placing his left leg behind his head; Hanasaka Jiji seated on the bough of a tree holding a bowl of ashes, details in ivory, sined Ryumin; of a courtier a tray in front of him; Okame seated, details in ivory, signed; Kanzan with a scroll in his lap, signed San..; a standing figure in hakama; a seated singer with fan; a professional sneezer; an entertainer crouched on his toes wearing an ivory Hyottoko mask, signed Hogyoku; Hotei resting his head over his hands and over a warm hibachi; an official, details in ivory; two Chinese playing go within a hollow and leafy satsuma fruit; an umbrella carrier massaging the head of a man who holds his hat in his hands -- the first 1 9/16in.
