A Japanese Satsuma dish, signed Saizan, Meiji Period
decorated in typical colourful enamels and gilt with a female courtesan seated by a desk with two young attendants looking out over the lake grounds at courtiers in a boat heading towards a pavilion to join others, the rim with a band of geometric and textile designs and another of hanabishi, the reverse signed Dai Nippon Saizan zo -- 8½in. (21.5cm.) diam.
