Lot Essay

The Three Graces in this composition is derived from an engraving of the Three Graces by Agostino Carracci dated circa 1590-95 (Bartsch 130). The inscription no doubt refers to Sisto Badalocchio (circa 1581-circa 1647) a pupil and collaborator of Agostino and Annibale Carracci.
