This work will be included in volume II or subsequent volumes of the Catalogue raisonné des tableaux, pastels, dessins et aquarelles de Renoir being prepared by Guy-Patrice and Michel Dauberville published by Bernheim-Jeune.

The owner of this drawing was living in New York in the 1950s where he befriended the sculptor Jacques Lipchitz (1891-1973), who advised him in purchasing and collecting art.
