The waisted case with foliate mounts and decorated with engraved foliate cut brass and with green-stained and natural ivory flowerheads, glazed side panels, the front door with mount of a heron drinking from a flask and a fox, the rear door and inside panelled with contre-partie decoration, on matching wall bracket, the sectional white enamel Roman and Arabic dial signed GILLE L'AINÉ/A PARIS, with pierced and engraved brass hands, the movement with rectangular plates joined by four back-pinned pillars, triple barrels and converted to anchor escapement, countwheel and quarter wheel to the back plate, hour and quarter-striking on three bells via three hammers, formerly with pull repeat; pendulum, case key
The clock -- 47¼ in. (120 cm.) high, the bracket -- 21 in. (53.5 cm.) high; 68¼ in. (173.5 cm.) high overall (2)
