BOX: three-tier with brass drop-down handles and escutcheon, bone roundel to the front inscribed 1447, brass gimbal and bowl numbered 147 to its inside, bezel with convex glass -- 157 mm. square
DIAL: silvered and engraved, with Roman chapters, 48-hour up/down ring at XII and seconds ring at VI, signed CHARLES FRODSHAM,/84. Strand London No.1447, all hands of blued steel (minute lacking) -- 97 mm. diameter
MOVEMENT: plain plates, chain and fusee with maintaining power, Earnshaw-type escapement with cut bimetallic balance and flat strip steel spring detent, polished steel helical balance spring
