Lot Essay

Hockney was born in Bradford in 1937 and remained in the area until 1953, attending the Bradford Grammar School and Bradford College of Art. Despite moving to L.A. in 1964, Hockney has never lost sight of his roots and often returns to visit his family in Bradford.
