Edo period (18th century), the helmet signed Munetsugu (of Echigo)
Lacquered gold and comprising a sixty-two plate suji-bachi lacquered black and mounted with a four-stage chrysanthemum tehen kanamono, the bowl fitted with five-stage neck guard termnating in small turnbacks, the forecrest a silver-lacquer crescent moon, black-lacquered face-mask with a boar-bristle moustache and silvered teeth and with a four-stage throat guard; the cuirass a hon-kozane ni-mai do with seven sections of five-lame tassets, the bottom tasset trimmed in boar's fur and the outer edges laced in blue and white; chu-sode; oda-gote with cherry florets on the upper plates; ikada haidate; shino suneate; one storage box; no armor stand
