WALKER EVANS'S OWN SET OF THE UNCORRECTED PROOFS OF THE EXPANDED EDITION OF THIS "LANDMARK DOCUMENTARY COLLABORATION" (101 Books). A unique artifact, signed and inscribed by Evans "Personal Copy", and showing an autograph manuscript correction in the introduction which is reflected in the published version. This edition is the first to publish all of Evans's photograph for this work -- double the number in the 1941 edition. The photographs in Evans's proof are printed on the rectos only -- a significant difference from the published version -- and include a duplicate set of the entire series, and another set of the first gathering of 16 photographs.
