According to the Copeland statuary Porcelain catalogue of 1848, this group was produced in 3 sizes. The model was originally meant to be the centerpiece for a dessert table, surmounted by a pierced basket. Compare Paul Atterbury with Maureen Batkin, The Parian Phenomenon, Somerset, 1989, p. 173.
