Of hemispherical form with high spreading foot, the exterior with a broad band of roundels filled with scrolling vine around a central quatrefoil motif, the interstices with similar floral vine, above a simulated naskh inscription against a ground of scrolling vine, the foot with a minor band of triangular motifs, traces of silver inlay remaining

The best example of a cup of this form is in the British Musuem (Linda Komaroff and Stefano Carboni, The Legacy of Genghis Khan, New York, 2002, fig.255, p.209). A very similar example to the present bowl was in the Jay Gluck Collection (The World of Persian Pottery, Gluck Collection, Tokyo, 1980, no.281).
