There is an 'Ali Sultan recorded as a pupil of 'Abd al-Rahim Khwarazmi (d. circa AH 892/1486-87 AD), a scribe at the court of the Aqquyunlu ruler Sultan Ya'qub. He moved to the court of the Ottoman Sultan Sulayman the Magnificent who was a patron of artists and calligraphers. No other work by him however is recorded Mehdi Bayani, ahval va asar-e khosh-nevisan, Vol. II, Teheran, 1346 sh., p. 468).

The text of the manuscript is perhaps the work of a poet named Fayzi and ends with a date of the composition in the abjad, AH 890/1485-86 AD.
