IRAN, EARLY 16TH CENTURY
Comprising one board and the flap, the lacquered exteriors with central cusped medallion and pendants on a ground of floral arabesques within a frame of cloud scrolls reserved in black on gold ground, the doublures with decoupé central medallion with cobalt ground surrounded by a gilt stamped panel of cloud scrolls within similar gilt and decoupé borders, minor areas of loss to the decoupé and minimal repainting on the exterior
