Lot Essay

The lot includes nine talismanic seals, bearing quotations from the Qur'an, the shahada, the nada 'ali quatrain, the names of the twelve Imams and prayers, one dated 1068 (AD 1657-8)

The personal seals are all 15th-16th seals with the names: Sayyid 'Ali ibn Taj al-Din, Ahmad ibn Iranshah, Hidayatullah, Muhammad Baqir 'Amu, Mahmud ibn 'Abd al-Ghani, Mu'min, Muhammad ibn 'Alikhan. Two are dated: one with the name Bahlul dated 928 (AD 1521-2) and the other with the name 'Isa dated 912 (AD 1506-07).
