QAJAR IRAN, DATED JUMADA AL-'AWAL AH 1305/JANUARY 1888 AD
A gift to the Ottoman Ambassador, with four lines of flowing large nasta'liq on a ground of gold and polychrome scrolling and flowering vine, between each line a thin band of gold and polychrome illumination, the bottom of the panel with the date Jumada al-'awal AH 1305, laid down between blue, white and red margins on marbled card, some creases and smudges
