Lot Essay

Little is known of Duchoiselle (including his Christian name), other than that he is documented as having executed ceiling reliefs for both the Louvre and Charles Garnier's Paris Opéra in 1882. The present work is what Duchoiselle is principally remembered for, editions in various sizes of this model were cast in bronze.
