A GROUP OF EIGHT ROMAN GLASS VESSELS
1ST-4TH CENTURY A.D.
Comprising a pale green 'thistle'-shaped goblet, with flaring sides, a protruding fold at the base of the body tapering down to a small conical foot, cream iridescence, 3rd-4th Century A.D., 4 in. (10 cm.) high; a pale green bowl with short diagonal ribs around the body, a wheel-cut line around the interior beneath the gently flaring rim, the base with shallow indentation, iridescence, circa 1st Century A.D., 5½ in. (13.9 cm.) diam.; a yellow-green sprinkler flask, the spherical body with faint spiral striations, the constricted neck with wide everted rim, circa 4th-5th Century A.D., 4 in. (10 cm.) high; an iridescent mould-blown sprinkler flask, the rounded body with bands of herringbone motif, circa 3rd Century A.D., 3 1/8 in. (8 cm.) high; a beaker with gently swollen body and flaring rim, with concave base, iridescence, 1st-4th Century A.D., 4¾ in. (12 cm.) high; a green miniature cosmetic jar, the rounded body with wide mouth and flaring inward-folded rim, circa 4th Century A.D., 1¾ in. (4.5 cm.) high; and two unguentaria, one green with flat body, the tall neck with everted rim, gold iridescence; the other with slender body, silver-cream iridescence, 2nd-3rd Century A.D., 7 3/8 in.
